A new Construction Department No.868 of the «DONAERODORSTROY» Branch specializing in the construction and reconstruction of bridges is engaged in repair works across the Don River on the M-4 Don Federal Highway in Aksaysky district, Rostov Region.

The 500-meter left side of the bridge crossing across the river is under reconstruction at the section of 1,065 km of M-4 Federal Highway.

By the end of April the specialists of the Construction Department had managed to complete the demolition works which included the removal of the worn asphalt covering of the road, the dismantling of water-proofing, the disassembling of expansion grooves, etc.

Besides the builders had completed repair works to strengthen bridge superstructure, erected new safety fence.

The final stage of reconstruction of the bridge crossing across the Don will be the laying of the new asphalt bedding course of the road of finely-granular dense-graded mixture, the laying of the asphalt carpet — of stone mastic asphalt and the erection of new barrier railings made of composite materials.

During the reconstruction about 40 road specialists were involved, and the construction equipment fleet includes manipulators, cranes, loading machines, mixers.

Bridge repair works started in December 2017, and are scheduled to be completed by May 20, 2018, just before the arrival of the guests and participants of the World Football Championship.
